Typical Day in Ghana

November 25, 2019

I have had a great week and to be honest when I got that news this week that I was going to be proselyting with a General Authority (Elder Nash) I was super stoked! {Elder Shirley will get an opportunity to accompany Elder Marcus B. Nash on a mission tour on December 10th}. That was like the coolest news that I could ever receive! I will be able to talk with him one on one for a little bit while we are out. I have an hour and a half with him, but that experience is not something that everyone gets to have. Anyways I am doing great and am happy to be here!!

It sounds like a fun time coming up with Thanksgiving and it will be fun to have Josh and Alyssa home for Thanksgiving this year but sad that Marissa and Tyler will not be there with them! Next year I will be home for Thanksgiving!!! That will be a great time! I cannot believe that Jess is about to deliver! I can bet that she is totally done being pregnant, being pregnant does not sound fun so I am happy that I never have to go through that!! Haha! As dad would say, that is "reason number 510 it is better to be a guy than a girl" haha!

Anyways this week was a great week and I cannot believe that Thanksgiving has come around again but just know that I am doing great and see miracles every day. I really appreciate your prayers that I feel throughout each of my days. Missionary work is really tiring but it is even more rewarding than it is tiring!!

Questions & Answers:

Q. Will you get any kind of "Thanksgiving" dinner this week?
A. Ya, I actually did get to eat it today. I sent you some pics.

Q. What successes did you have this week with missionary work?
A. This week we had a lot of hope with people coming to the stake conference but were let down when none of them came. However, we have a positive outlook that they will come because they are great people that just need to show their faith a little bit. We were able to find some people that we feel like will be able to progress towards baptism. No big experience to really share this week but the week was good.

Q. What was the best and worst thing you ate this week?
A. This week the best thing that I ate was probably some rice and stew that me and my companion made for us in the apartment. The worst thing that I ate was probably, hard to say. Nothing too bad that we ate this week.
