Well, we made it to the Ghana MTC safely, but man that was a long flight! What are the odds that I run into Bro. Redd on that first flight!! (a good family friend ended up being on the same flight as Elder Shirley) haha that was comforting to see a familiar face and he helped me through that first process. He also bought me a Jamba in SLC, so that was super nice of him. I ran into a bunch of elders in the SLC airport and there were about 20 elders on that flight. It was nice to see a bunch of elders and it made all of us feel a lot more comfortable. On the second flight from SLC to Amsterdam I could not sleep and it was a long boring flight. Then from Amsterdam to Ghana I finally fell asleep and I was able to get some rest for about 4 hours. When we arrived in Ghana, let me tell you.... it is so humid here you would not believe it. I was not ready for that but my skin, along with everyone else's was very wet and it was super hot. We had to go through an immigration process and it was all just kind of crazy in the airport! Anyways, they just gave us an opportunity to write home real quick just to let you know that we are safe, but you will hear more from me on Monday! I think we only get 30 minutes so it might not be super long but we will see! Miss you all already and talk to you soon! Love you guys!
~Elder Shirley
